Johnson Matthey needed an app for their engineers, working on-site to be able to make consistent calculations, conversions and reference physical properties. The emphasis was on simplicity so any methods currently in use by their engineers could be superseded. It needed to run a wide range on mobile devices with operating systems such as iOS, Android, Blackberry and Windows mobile and still work when there is no internet connection. We created a mobile app using open standard web technology that could remember the users previous calculations, conversions and provided settings so the app could be customised for their field of work.
